Auroral

Support

We read every message.

Auroral has no account and no login, so there’s nothing to recover and nothing to unsubscribe from. Most questions are about how the score works, why a notification did (or didn’t) fire, or the Remove Ads purchase — answers below. For anything else, email us.

Common questions

Why didn’t I get a notification?

Auroral stays silent on purpose when clouds would ruin the view, when the moon is too bright, or when the sky isn’t dark yet. It only alerts when aurora strength, cloud cover, moonlight and darkness all line up above your threshold. Check your threshold and that notifications and background refresh are enabled in your device settings.

What does the 0–100 score mean?

It blends live aurora activity with how clear and dark your sky is right now. A high score means the lights are likely and visible from your location — not just active somewhere over the pole.

Do I need an account or to pay?

No account, ever. Auroral is free with a single banner ad on the dashboard. If you’d rather not see it, a one-time Remove Ads purchase in Settings removes it permanently — no subscription. Your location is used only to fetch your forecast. See our Privacy Policy.

I bought Remove Ads — how do I get it back on a new phone?

The purchase is tied to your Apple ID, not to an account with us. On the new device, open Settings → Restore Purchases and the banner disappears again.

Which languages are supported?

The entire app is available in 11 languages and follows your device language automatically.
